Daniel Tube is a terminal based app, used to download and translate any Youtube video, giving translated subtitles for excellent language learning.

Why

YouTube sometimes is too addicting. Making it in a terminal was not only fun, but made the platform seem like YOU are in control. I combined this with AI based whisper api for language learning, making the translated video subtitles.

YouTube is a magic trick that people stopped noticing, a platform that is too addicting. I was thinking of making a terminal based Youtube, that downloads the videos, giving time to respect the videos and the creators that you watch, while removing uneccessary context switching which makes you tired from watching different types of videos so quickly. I combined this philosophy with language learning. The Whisper api makes the translation subtitles of every video whichever language you want! The translated subtitles gives the on demand translation with constant exposure to new words
